During lockdown, I collaborated with two other artists that I had only ever met online to create a pop up Instagram event showcasing our work. Each of us then auctioned off a painting and donated the proceeds to the fabulous RNLI in acknowledgement of the fantastic work they do in saving lives all around the British Isles.

I particularly love that one of their founding principles is to strive for excellence, something I try to do when it comes to each painting that I create. The coastlines around the UK provided much inspiraton during the last 18 months, from wet and windy days to extremely hot temperatures, the huge array of colours on show throughout the last year has really inspired some of the palettes I opted to work with back in the studio.

Sea Beat Shores, the original painting itself has sincesold, however a few of the special Signed Limited Edition prints are available on the print section of the website.

Some impressive facts about the RNLI:

  • In 2020 there were over 8329 lifeboat launches
  • In the same year, over 239 lives were saved by RNLI lifeboat crew
  • Over 8374 people were aided by RNLI lifeboats and an impressive 25,172 people also aided by specially trained RNLI lifeguards.
  • The organisation relies on donations to help it provide its lifes saving services
