EMMA TWEEDIE ARTWORK MAKES THE COVER OF LEADING WOMEN’S LIFESTYLE MAGAZINE
On the way home from the studio today I was thrilled to discover that one of my abstract pieces of art features on the cover of the latest issue of Country Homes & Interiors Magazine (Oct 18). I was contacted recently to see if any of my original artworks might fit their theme of ‘Organic Designs’ and ‘Seasonal Changes’. This particular artwork features claypaint and natural pigments which have been layered onto art board, with fluid marks and water dropped into both acrylic medium and watercolour. The claypaint was used in the underpainting for a softer, gentle effect, and then I’ve added some pigment and metallic pigment for the final layer for surface interest.
It’s been art directed by the very talented Sara Bird, who has just started a great new content platform called The Homing Bird styled by the super talented Marie Nichols and shot by Dan Duchars . I always love seeing how other people use art in an interior context. It always seems to act as the element that brings the room or space and furnishings together.
