Selected artworks by Emma Tweedie are now being displayed at The Wey Gallery in Godalming. This prestigious gallery, run by the talented Julie Pugh-Jones and Clare Richards, who have been showcasing the work of incredible artists for years.
It was a few months ago when the gallery first approached Emma, expressing their interest in showcasing her pieces in their Godalming-based space. After seeing the beautiful location and meeting with Julie and Clare, the artist knew this was an opportunity she could not pass up.
The Wey Gallery is a true Surrey gem, nestled in a picturesque rural setting. The gallery represents a diverse range of artists, including the likes of Dan Baldwin, Parastoo Ganjei, Suzanne Winter, and two other artists Emma has regularly exhibited alongside,Sarah Cox and Corrine Natel. This means that visitors to the gallery are treated to a variety of styles and mediums, making for a dynamic and exciting experience.
One of the things that strikes visitors and artists at The Wey Gallery is the size of their walls. Unlike some galleries, they have plenty of space to display larger pieces, giving each work the attention and respect it deserves. Julie and Clare have years of experience in curating art for big fairs such as The Affordable Art Fair, which is evident in the tasteful and well-thought-out 'hangs' throughout the gallery.
The space itself is light, bright, and airy, creating the perfect backdrop for the incredible artworks on display. The window is updated frequently, ensuring that visitors are always treated to something new and exciting. The Wey Gallery offers a diverse range of works, including Originals, Limited Edition prints, Master Prints, Sculptures, and even glass pieces. This means that there is something to suit every collector's taste and budget.
One of the joys of working with a gallery like this is their expertise and knowledge. Julie and Clare have a deep understanding of their buyers and what their clients are looking for. This means that they can offer invaluable advice on framing, installation, and even which pieces to display in your home or office.
Of course, we cannot ignore the recent challenges that artists and independent gallerists have faced due to the pandemic. However, galleries like The Wey have a solid offer and client base that stands the test of time.
Emma says " I am grateful to be working with such an established and respected gallery, especially during these uncertain times.
At the moment, I have four pieces on display at The Wey Gallery, but I am already looking to do a refresh in the coming weeks. I am excited to see how my work evolves and resonates with visitors to the gallery. I cannot recommend a visit to The Wey Gallery enough. Whether you are an art lover, collector, or simply looking for a beautiful space to spend an afternoon, I promise you will not be disappointed. I am grateful for this opportunity and look forward to a continued partnership with this incredible gallery."
